The AWC is Glad to announce signing an agreement for a 3 years Grant with the USGS (U.S. Geological Survey) for a new program "ACCELERATION OF AQUIFER STORAGE & RECOVERY".

The AWC is Glad to announce signing an agreement for a 3years Grant with the USGS (U.S. Geological Survey) for a new program "ACCELERATION OF AQUIFER STORAGE & RECOVERY".

The program will produce a study with the objective to improve water security in the MENA region by accelerating the practice of aquifer storage and recovery (ASR). New methods for identifying high potential ASR sites, based on remote sensing and geospatial hydrologic analysis, will be applied and demonstrated. The study will build the capacity of MENA national institutions to develop nonconventional water resources for domestic and agricultural water supplies.
The AWC will be the regional coordinator for this program working closely and cooperatively with the USGS (U.S. Geological Survey) during the study to improve water security and increase water supplies within the MENA region by acceleration of ASR.
